Dear KCU Community,

As we approach the summer months, Kansas City University wraps up the 2021-2022 academic year with celebration, gratitude and remembrances.

On May 7 and 8, we celebrated commencement ceremonies for our largest class in the University’s history, conferring degrees on 567 graduates of the Class of 2022. KCU hosted family and friends in Kansas City and Joplin to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our graduates. And of particular note this year, our inaugural class of clinical psychologists joined the ranks of KCU’s more than 10,000 living alumni.

During the week of April 12, KCU's 30th Annual Research Symposium featured five renowned keynote speakers and presented the work of our student doctors and researchers, residents, fellows and faculty.

In addition to academic achievements, KCU celebrated two philanthropic gifts for the College of Dental Medicine. Joplin Regional Medical School Alliance (JRMSA) donated $3 million and the Patterson Family Foundation issued a $1 million scholarship challenge.

And, on May 8, we lost a friend and benefactor with the passing of Mr. Harry Cornell. Mr. Cornell’s generous, forward-thinking spirit and his contributions were instrumental in our ability to establish in Joplin the College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Dental Medicine – to take them from dreams to reality. We are forever grateful to him and all those who give of their time, talent and resources to advance our University.

Yours truly,
