Karen Evans, DO

Karen Evans, DO, is a family physician in private practice with Family Centered Medicine in Kansas. A second-generation osteopathic physician, she followed her father, Robert Frayser, DO, into the profession.

Evans earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Kansas State University in 1996 and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University in 2000. She completed her internship at Mesa General Hospital in 2001 and her family medicine residency at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix in 2003.

She began her career practicing alongside her father in Payson, Arizona, where she remained until 2009. Evans then returned to Kansas and practiced at Lawrence Memorial Hospital from 2009 to 2026. In January 2026, she transitioned to private practice with Family Centered Medicine.

Throughout her career, Evans has been active in osteopathic medicine and professional leadership. She serves on the Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine Board of Trustees and was the organization’s president from 2021 to 2022. She is currently president of the Kansas Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, has represented osteopathic physicians in the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates for 14 years and serves on the Osteopathic Review Committee for the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.

Evans is the mother of triplet daughters. Her interests include tennis, running, gardening and spending time outdoors.
