Kansas City University names Thomas Moorman as senior vice provost for Student Success

Thomas Moorman, EdD, Joins KCU

Kansas City University (KCU) is moving forward in its effort to support student achievement with the appointment of Thomas Moorman, EdD, as senior vice provost for Student Success.

Bringing over two decades of leadership in higher education, Moorman will oversee student services, counseling, learning support, disability resources and student engagement, building on KCU’s commitment to student well-being and achievement.

“Dr. Moorman is a passionate advocate for student well-being and success, with a proven record of building collaborative campus cultures and high-performing teams, said Edward O’Connor, PhD, MBA, FACHE, provost and vice president for Academic, Research and Student Affairs at KCU. “His expertise and vision will further strengthen KCU’s commitment to supporting our students and advancing their success and well-being at every stage of their educational journey.”

Moorman joins KCU from the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he served as senior associate dean for Student Services and Title IX coordinator. In this role, he provided leadership for the offices of Student Affairs, Behavioral Health Services, Student Success, Financial Aid, Registrar and Recruitment and Admissions.

Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, earning recognition as one of the institution’s “50 Heroes in 50 Years” and having a student affairs fellows program named in his honor.
