Guatemala
For more than two decades, KCU students have traveled to Guatemala to deliver care to thousands of patients, many of whom have not seen a physician in years. Patients are provided with a diagnosis and medications free of charge, and many receive osteopathic manipulative treatments for the first time in their lives.
KCU Global Health combines clinical skills and compassion
When KCU student doctors entered a makeshift clinic in the aldeas of Guatemala, they were greeted with a standing ovation. In this community comprised of all ages from newborn babies to elderly abuelas, access to medical care is something to applaud.
Dominican Republic
Since 2009, our KCU students and faculty have traveled annually to the Dominican Republic to supply medical outreach to various communities in need. In addition, we administer sports physicals to players at the Kansas City Royals Baseball Academy.
Kenya
Since 2014, KCU has collaborated with a Kenyan physician to deliver care to patients who present in his non-profit clinic. Students see firsthand the tropical diseases they have read about in their textbooks in this unique opportunity.
KCU medical mission returns to Kenya for global health outreach
It has been a long wait for KCU students and faculty who have a passion for service learning in Africa. In November of 2022, they finally got the opportunity to return to Kenya for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
