Step 1 - Research Idea

Researchers work in lab.

The following resources may assist you with generating a research idea to pursue with a faculty mentor.

Library Resources

Research Hub

The Research Hub is a public channel within KCU’s Thrive application that is designed for both students and faculty to advertise their need for assistance with a research project or to request involvement in research. It is intended to be a professional, open forum to connect all students and faculty across both campuses for the purpose of engaging in research and establishing collaborations.

All KCU students and faculty are able to create an account using their KCU single sign-on (SSO).

Research Hub Instructions: Review important instructions and best practice guidelines for using the Research Hub.

CPHE Research Lab

The Center for Population Health and Equity (CPHE) Research Lab is an integral part of KCU’s overall research infrastructure offering support to students throughout the research process. The lab helps students shape study questions, plan study designs, complete IRB forms, work with publicly available data, perform data analysis, interpret results and share findings. Students can use the lab during scheduled office hours available in-person or virtually on both campuses. Office hours are listed on the shared Outlook calendar (CPHE-Research Lab). Those unable to visit during scheduled hours can email the lab at [email protected]. Most inquiries receive a response within three business days.
