Guidance for Licensure Exams*

COMLEX Accommodation Information:

Per the KCU disability accommodation policy, “Students are responsible for initiating NBOME or NBME accommodation requests directly with the appropriate governing entities.”

  1. Begin drafting personal statement.
  2. Review requirements for completing the application.
    1. NBOME test accommodations
    2. USMLE test accommodations
  3. Schedule visit (and updated testing if necessary) with your treating provider (e.g., psychologist, medical doctor, etc.).
    1. Assessments and/or documentation of attentional deficit and/or learning disabilities should be no more than three years old when submitting your application.
    2. Assessments and/or documentation of psychiatric conditions (e.g., anxiety disorders, depressive disorders) should be no more than one  year old when submitting your application.
  4. Request or screenshot MCAT, ACT/SAT scores.
    1. This information does not need to be an official transcript.
  5. Collect additional documentation as necessary.
    1. CVs for evaluators/physicians (This is an essential supporting document.)
    2. Any available historical evaluations or supplemental letters of support from previous institutions
    3. Prior accommodation letters if available
  6. Develop a plan and timeline to apply for accommodations.
    1. Complete the application form(s).
    2. Email the verification of prior accommodation form(s) to [email protected] for signature.
    3. Recommended date for submitting your request is no later than December 1.
