Robert S. Juhasz, DO, MACOI
Robert S. Juhasz, DO, MACOI, FACP, is a board-certified internist from Eastlake, Ohio, who retired from full-time clinical practice in 2020, after serving in multiple clinical and leadership positions. He is currently an Emeritus member at Cleveland Clinic.
Upon graduating from Kansas City University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981, Dr. Juhasz completed his internship and internal medicine residency training at what is now Cleveland Clinic-South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
A pioneer in the adoption of electronic health records, Dr. Juhasz was actively involved in the implementation of the electronic medical record system at Cleveland Clinic before many physicians used these systems. In 2005, he participated on a panel with President George W. Bush to discuss the benefits of electronic medical records. He served as an associate dean at Ohio University-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) and was responsible for initiating the development and construction of the OUHCOM Cleveland Campus and served as chair of the dean search for that campus. From 2013 to 2017, Dr. Juhasz served as president of Cleveland Clinic’s South Pointe Hospital. In 2014, he was named the 118th president of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). He recently presented the A.T. Still Memorial Lecture at the 2022 AOA House of Delegates. Dr. Juhasz served as a board member on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education from 2016-2023, where he served on several task forces and committees and was the Chair for the Awards Committee.
Dr. Juhasz has held adjunct faculty positions at Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western University in Cleveland and at OU-HCOM, where he also served as an associate dean. His commitment to providing excellence in patient care has not gone unnoticed. He is the recipient of OU-HCOM’s Phillips Medal of Public Service and the Ohio Osteopathic Association’s Trustee Award.
Dr. Juhasz is a fellow and diplomat of the American College of Osteopathic Internists and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
