First-year COM Scholarships

Admitted students will receive an email inviting them to apply for scholarships once the scholarship application is available. Students will only need to complete one application to apply for all KCU-COM scholarships available for first-year students. A selection committee will determine scholarship recipients. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis. The scholarship application will close on March 1st.

COM Core Value Scholarship

Amount: Half Tuition

Awarded to: Up to six incoming College of Medicine students.

Renewable: Yes, up to three additional years and maintain a cumulative overall percentage score of 80% and earn a minimum satisfactory grade on all courses and clerkships.

Application: Yes, to apply for the Core Value Scholarship applicants must submit an essay, not to exceed 1,500 words. Choose one of the KCU Core Values (Excellence, Equity or Empathy) and describe how it has inspired you to pursue a career in Osteopathic Medicine. Explain how you plan to continue this value throughout your career in healthcare. 

Excellence Scholarship

Amount: $20,000

Awarded to: Up to ten incoming students who have strong academic merit and extensive community service.

Renewable: Both renewable and non-renewable Excellence Scholarships are offered. The renewable award will be for three additional years and requires you to maintain good academic standing and earn a minimum satisfactory grade on all courses/clerkships.

President's Scholarship

Amount: $10,000

Awarded to: Up to fifteen incoming students who have strong academic merit.

Renewable: Both renewable and non-renewable President’s Scholarships are offered. The renewable award will be for three additional years and requires you to maintain good academic standing and earn a minimum satisfactory grade on all courses/clerkships.

Service Leadership Scholarship

Amount: $10,000

Awarded to: One incoming KCU-COM student, for each university campus, who demonstrates outstanding service and/or leadership in a health-care-related field (excluding shadowing experiences) and shows significant financial need (qualified as $0-$6,000 expected family contribution on the incoming students FAFSA and total resources (outside scholarships, parental support, etc.) no greater than $5,000).

Alamo Scholarship

Amount: $10,000

Awarded to: Up to six incoming students who are current residents of Texas.

Renewable: No

Riverside Health Scholarship

Amount: $12,000

Awarded to: Up to two incoming students who are current residents of Wichita, KS.

Renewable: No.

Other Scholarships

Amount: $2000-$10,000

Awarded to: Various other scholarships are awarded each year to incoming students with a strong academic record and the potential for success.

Application: The application will be available to admitted students at the time of their admission. Students admitted from the waiting list are not eligible for this scholarship. A selection committee will determine scholarship recipients and award winners will be notified via email.

Renewable: Both renewable and non-renewable KCU Scholarships are offered. The renewable award will be for three additional years and requires you to maintain good academic standing and earn a minimum satisfactory grade on all courses/clerkships.
