Kansas City University (KCU) proudly celebrates alumnus and Board of Trustees Chair Robert S. Juhasz, DO, MACOI, FACP, who was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cleveland Academy of Osteopathic Medicine (CAOM).

Juhasz was recognized for his distinguished career in health care and medical education and his lifelong commitment to advancing patient-centered care. His leadership has helped shape the future of osteopathic medicine while positively impacting countless patients, members of the medical community and future physicians through a career rooted in service.

Reflecting on the honor, Juhasz shared his gratitude for the mentors, colleagues and family who supported his journey, noting that he has been “truly blessed by the opportunity to serve those I have been privileged to care for and those I have been able to work with and mentor.”

A nationally respected leader in osteopathic medicine, Juhasz previously served as president of the American Osteopathic Association from 2014 to 2015 and as president of Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital from 2013 to 2017. He is also recognized as an early pioneer in electronic health records, participating in a national panel with President George W. Bush in 2005 focused on improving patient safety through digital health innovation.

In addition to the CAOM Lifetime Achievement Award, Juhasz was named the 2025 William D. Miller Award recipient by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, further recognizing his extraordinary contributions to medical education and the advancement of the osteopathic profession.

“Dr. Juhasz has lived a life of service,” said Marc B. Hahn, DO, president and CEO of KCU. “We are fortunate that one part of that has been service to our osteopathic profession.”

KCU is honored to celebrate his remarkable career and the many lives he has impacted through his service, leadership and dedication to our vision of changing health care for good.
