Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital

Core Site assignments are for year three only. Clerkship placement during year four is based solely on the site’s availability and approval. Students must follow the scheduling protocols outlined by the location and the Clinical Education Guidelines.

Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital is one hospital with two campuses: Warren (Macomb) and Madison Heights (Oakland). Both campuses are osteopathic teaching hospitals affiliated with A.T. Still University Osteopathic Medical School, Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and Kansas City University.

Our 348-bed hospital in Warren has always provided Macomb county residents and local communities with exceptional inpatient and outpatient services. Recently, we opened our newly constructed 3-floor build up, which now allows the hospital to offer patients and families 133 private beds at our Warren campus. This addition, along with other technology upgrades, will help improve the overall patient experience.

Our care teams are committed to providing a detailed treatment plan for your individual situation. Our doctors specialize in a wide range of specialties from heart care to orthopedics and emergency care to behavioral medicine. Our on-campus Webber Cancer Center provides personalized treatment and supportive cancer care.

Our partnership with A.T. Still University Osteopathic Medical School, Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and Kansas City University supports a first-rate residency training program where residents work closely with our doctors to gain real-life experience and prepare for their medical careers. All 16 programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We also conduct medical research as part of university-directed programs in family practice, emergency medicine, cardiology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urology, and ophthalmology.

The Madison Heights Campus offers a full range of adult medical and surgical services provided by board-certified physicians with a majority having university appointments. We conduct medical research as part of university-directed programs in family practice, emergency medicine, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology and cardiovascular care.

Our Madison Height Campus is a 133-bed acute care, osteopathic teaching hospital. The hospital offers first-rate residency training in emergency medicine and serves as the base hospital for the Madison Heights and Hazel Park fire and EMS personnel.
