PsyD Scholarships

The Doctor of Clinical Psychology program offers scholarships dedicated to promoting Kansas City University’s Core Values:

Scholarship Descriptions

KCU - PsyD Excellence Scholarships are merit-based scholarships to qualified applicants who have demonstrated excellence in academics.  The three scholarship tiers are Presidential Scholarship, Dean’s Scholarship and University Scholarship.  These scholarships are automatically awarded upon acceptance and do not require an application.  

KCU-PsyD Core Value Scholarship focuses on supporting an inclusive and collaborative environment through KCU’s Core Value of Equity.  Please submit an essay, not to exceed 1,000 words, about how you can demonstrate the University’s Core Values of Equity, as you progress in your PsyD education at KCU.

KCU-PsyD Empathy Scholarship is for a student who demonstrates empathy through caring for other students, colleagues and community members.  Please submit an essay, not to exceed 1,000 words, describing a time that your empathetic nature has made a lasting impact to improve the well-being of the community.  

KCU-PsyD Presidential Scholarship

Amount: $5,000 applied toward tuition 

Awarded to: New, incoming PsyD student who meets the scholarship requirements

Requirements: Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.70 and undergraduate Psychology  GPA of 3.75. Students must be an undergraduate Psychology major. 

Renewable: Yes, this scholarship is renewable for the first four years of the program.

KCU-PsyD Dean’s Scholarship

Amount: $3,000 applied toward tuition

Awarded to: New, incoming PsyD student who meets the scholarship requirements.   

Requirements: Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.60 and undergraduate Psychology GPA of 3.75. Students must be an undergraduate Psychology major. 

Renewable: Yes, this scholarship is renewable for the first four years of the program.

KCU-PsyD University Scholarship

Amount: 2,000 applied towards tuition.

Awarded to: New, incoming PsyD student who meets the scholarship requirements.   

Requirements: Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.50 and undergraduate Psychology GPA of 3.60. Students must be a Psychology major. 

Renewable: Yes, this scholarship is renewable for the first four years of the program.

KCU-PsyD Core Value Scholarship

Amount: $10,000 applied toward tuition.

Awarded to: One new, incoming PsyD student who have met the minimum requirements. This scholarship is open to all incoming PsyD students meeting the criteria without regard to any legally protected basis. The PsyD Scholarship Committee will review each qualifying application to choose the recipient. 

Requirements: Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.50 and undergraduate Psychology GPA of 3.60. 

Renewable: Yes, this scholarship is renewable for the first four years of the program.

KCU-PsyD Empathy Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 applied toward tuition.

Awarded to: One new, incoming PsyD student who has met the minimum requirements. This scholarship is open to all incoming PsyD students meeting the criteria without regard to any legally protected basis. The PsyD Scholarship Committee will review each qualifying application to choose the recipient. 

Requirements: Minimum undergraduate cumulative and Psychology GPA of 3.25.
