As 2022 comes to an end, we reflect on an amazing year. KCU graduated the largest College of Osteopathic Medicine class in our history. We received multimillion dollar grants for research and programming. KCU was recognized by the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce as one of the area’s Healthiest Employers and we earned Cigna Platinum certification for employee wellness.
This December issue of Inside KCU includes a variety of stories of our students, alumni, faculty, and staff. You may be inspired by the grit and tenacity of one of our board of trustees members, Chief Glenna Wallace. KCU faculty, staff and students returned to Kenya for the first time since the beginning of the COVID pandemic to provide vital medical care in the local village while gaining critical hands-on clinical experience. KCU’s subject matter experts have appeared in local media in Kansas City and in Joplin to share their knowledge and experience with the community. A new team member will be joining KCU in January. I hope you take a moment to read about Richard Schooler, DO, who will be our vice president of the KCU Joplin campus.
There are many exciting opportunities for KCU in 2023. The acceptance letters for the KCU College of Dental Medicine went out last week, and we will welcome our first class of 80 students to the nation’s 76th dental school in July.
Happy Holidays
