April is Autism Awareness Month. Amy Sickel, PsyD, KCU director of clinical Psychology training and assistant professor shares new insight into the disorder and offers guidance for parents.

Are spring allergies really getting worse? Dr. Gautam Desai, professor and chair of Primary Care at KCU answers that question and shares tips on how to treat allergies that plague many patients each spring.

KCU is proud to announce that Dale Bratzler, DO, MPH (COM '81), was honored with the Resident Legacy Award at the Richard Staab, DO, Residency Symposium on April 1st in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

When KCU student doctors entered a makeshift clinic in the aldeas of Guatemala, they were greeted with a standing ovation. In this community comprised of all ages from newborn babies to elderly abuelas, access to medical care is something to applaud.

The four-day event offered students a platform to showcase their research endeavors and distinguish themselves with a more competitive edge when it comes to residency placement.

KCU's Dr. Sarah Getch speaks on how social media can impact a child's body image and how parents can support their child's mental health. "Boys are just as  susceptible as girls are to this content and the impact it can have on their body," said Dr. Getch. 

KCU was recently named among Kansas City’s 2023 Healthiest Employers by the Kansas City Business Journal.

Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine Associate Dean of Clinical Education and Associate Professor of Primary Care Bruce Williams, DO, completed his one-year term as the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians president. 

Joyful! That’s the word KCU College of Dental Medicine (CDM) Founding Dean Linda Niessen, DMD, MPH, MPP, used to describe the energy on campus during Second Look Day held Friday, March 24. 

Millie Shah, a second-year student attending KCU’s Joplin campus, received the American Osteopathic Foundation’s Sterling Welch, DO, Scholars Grant in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement and leadership among her peers.

KCU-Joplin hosted a mass casualty simulation last week, which allowed students to navigate through a staged disaster. Students were able to implement their skills while professors evaluated their work.
